BIO

Ben Cameron is your Broadway buddy! Taking the stuffy out of the stuff and the biz out of the show! Ben brings the Broadway community right to your door, like a friendly neighbor dropping off a tray of homemade brownies. YUM. Broadway Brownies. Ben likes you.

Ben is a Broadway veteran who appeared in the original Broadway casts of Footloose, Aida, and a little show called Wicked .If you listen to the second track of the Wicked cast album, you can hear Ben drop the pivotal plot line, "Glinda, Is it true your were her friend?” (Feel free to applaud wildly into your computer screen).

Ben has toured the US and Europe in productions of Footloose, Fame, The Who's Tommy, State Fair and Sweet Charity (starring opposite Molly Ringwald--and yes, she's as good a kisser and you had hoped). He's also appeared on cast albums of Footloose andReach the Sky: The Music of Bobby Cronin, singing “Dance Your Troubles Away” (a song written for him by Mr. Cronin).

Ben has enjoyed two sold-out runs of his one-man show "Different is Good" (2005, 2010). He continues to write, direct, and choreograph intimate shows for Broadway and cabaret stars at some of NYC's most notable venues. Ben's signature exuberance and wit have made him a sought after writer for award shows and benefits, including the NYMF Inaugural Gala, The Lucille Lortel Awards, Broadway's Benefit for Hurricane Relief and more.

As a dancer Ben has performed on The ESPY Awards, for recording artists, and in the inaugural companies of Odyssey Dance Theatre and Dre Dance (directed by (Taye Diggs, Andrew Palermo.) Club Indigo, and Broadway's Best in Atlantic City under the direction of Joe Lanteri. Ben has served on the faculties of NYU's CAP21 studio and Wagner College, and as creative consultant for Mapinspired:The Storytellers' Dance Company. He continues to teach dance and theatre workshops, and to choreograph around the world. For information on master classes and choreography please reach out via the contact page on this website.

After hanging up his dance belt , Ben rallied his "theatre geekdom" and created Broadway Sessions. Now in it's 13thseason (!), Sessions brings Broadway's brightest every other week at the The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Since creating Sessions, Ben has become one of the theatre community's most beloved hosts and personalities. As host of Mostly Sondheim at The Duplex for 5 years, he received three MAC nomination. He's hosted countless concerts, benefits and events: BC/EFA's Flea Market Celebrity Autograph Table, Rockers on Broadway, Living For Today, Broadway at The W, NYMF ASCAP/BMI Meet the Composers, Onstage NY Talent Competitions, New York City Dance Alliance National Season Finales (multiple years), The Broken Leg Podcast w/ Tony winner Lena Hall and (drumroll please), Broadway Sessions Beach Party on Fire Island, and, in 2016-2017, Roadway Con (the ultimate Broadway fan experience).

Ben branched out into web and TV work in producing My Broadway Bar, Dance Captain Dance Attack and the hit podcast The Broadway Cast___, Ben has been honored to host several shows on WNET, the prestigious PBS station in New York, including Masterpiece Classics' “Downton Abbey New Year's Marathon” and “Hamilton's America” and American Master's Norman Lear documentary. He was even featured on Wendy Williams's street Talk Segment joking on Nikki Minaj and Adele…cuz, classy.

There's more to tell, but we'll save that for face to face. We can talk about his Mormon upbringing in Utah, his stellar tween community theatre resume, his affinity for all things Muppet and The Golden Girls, his obsessions with bowties, his daily struggle to stay out of McDonald's, his addiction to documentary films and love for misfits and weirdos everywhere. Whatever the project, Ben brings an infectiously upbeat energy and hilarity. Ah, heck, he loves you!
