The White Plains Performing Arts Center is seeking both AEA & non-union performers for JEKYLL & HYDE.We are seeking a MULTI-ETHNIC cast with fantastic singing, acting and dancing abilities to play principal and supporting roles (breakdown below.)
Please note there is NO housing for this production. Theater is located 35 minutes from NYC.
SYNOPSIS
JEKYLL & HYDE brings new life to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story of the epic battle between good and evil, featuring a thrilling score of pop rock hits from multi Grammy and Tony-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn and double Oscar and Grammy-winning Leslie Bricusse. The soaring score features powerful songs including “This Is The Moment,” “In His Eyes,” Someone Like You,” and “A New Life.”
IMPORTANT DATES
1st Rehearsal: September 16 (rehearses in NYC, within 10am-6pm range)
Tech: Sept 27-Oct 3 in White Plains
Shows: October 4-6, 10-13, 17-20 (3-4 performances/week)
**Possible extension Oct 25-27 with additional compensation
Please bring any and all conflicts to the auditions and note that the rehearsals times may vary. You must be available for all shows and tech week to audition.

**Total of 3-4 performances/week
$530/week min for AEA actors + Pension/5 health weeks
Non-union: Fee Minimum $1,800+ (based on role)
Theatre anticipates having 4 total AEA contracts available for this production. Travel via MNR provided.
Casting Breakdown:
HENRY JEKYLL/EDWARD HYDE: 30-40, Extremely strong actor and singer, must transform from sensitive Victorian doctor to charismatic, sexual serial killer. Baritenor, Vocal Range: B2-A4
EMMA: 20’s-30. The daughter of Chariman Danvers and Jekyll's beloved finacee who is refined and desired by all of the socialite men. Exceptional Singer. Soprano Belter-Vocal Range: A3-C6
LUCY: 20s - 30s. The gorgeous 'main attraction' at a local gentleman's club. At the bottom of her luck, she becomes the object of Hyde's obsession. Lucy is feisty and wild, but also cautious and aware. Exceptional Singer. Mezzo/Alto Belter Vocal Range G#3-F#5
UTTERSON: 30-40. Jekyll's best friend, attorney, smart, intuitive.
Baritone, Vocal Range: B2-F#4
SIR DANVERS CAREW: 40s - 60s. Emma's father, well-bred and loving.
Baritone, Vocal Range C3-F#4
SIMON STRIDE: 20s - 30s. The secretary of the Board of Governors and Jekyll's rival for Emma's affections. Vocal Range A2-G4
LADY BEACONSFIELD: 40s - 50s. Alto. Society dowager but still on the prowl.
BISHOP OF BASINGSTOKE: 30-40’s Conservative looking but has a secret hobby with the ladies of the night. Vocal Range C3-G4
LORD SAVAGE/SPIDER: 25-40’s. Baritone. Man-about-town, arrogant, Pimp.
SIR ARCHIBALD PROOPS: Baritenor 25-40’s Queen's Counsel, all-business.
GENERAL LORD GLOSSOP: 40s - 60s. An old-fashioned Army General with dated ideas on discipline. Vocal range C3-G4
Ensemble: 3 Women 3 Men (20’s-40’s) Strong Singer/Movers to play various roles in the show and possibly understudy.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
VIDEOS ARE DUE: August 18th
-Please sing a cut of a song from the show (preferred) or in the style of the show. We have provided a few song options you can use in the material link below if you want.
-No in person audition/callback invites will go out until all videos are viewed as pre-screens. In person dates will between August 23-Sept 6 via invite only.
